is there a sticky for changing rear bearings?

So far no. I think I have done three but never had a camera with me. But there are posts with pics on the forum though

done front in about half an hour.

it's supposed to be a complete pig of a job, requiring a press to remove and refit.

Someone (JimBob?) gives these instructions:

Book into a garage.
Leave the car.
Collect the car and pay the garage about 200 quid.
Drive away.

I followed the instructions, except I paid 168 quid.

Does a rear bearing make an easily identifiable noise to let you know it is knackered and needs replacing?

(not especially happy with the idea of 200 notes later...................) :'(

Two ou tof the three I have done have been noisy. Juddering / whistling that steadily rises with speed, goes out when turning to the bad bearing side, louder on the other side turns. No play was present, reason for destruction IMHO that water had gotten inside the bearings.

The third had severe play in it, although the noise was horrible too! :y

mine is noisey a drone picks up with speed, but after browsing around here i'm thinking it may be the disc.
on lifting the wheel this afternoon no play and a rubbing sound at one point in the revolution making me think brake pads are hitting disc.

Have got similar problem no change in noise cornering just speed I think it is the diff as the noise is bad sitting in the back and can't pin it down to any side.

same here, need to check the oil level at the weekend.
Mine is leaking a bit out of the prop shaft bit.

I have driven the old bearings of with some heat and a club hammer and drift,but it is a struggle

Droning noises in the back can also be down to Inner Drive Shaft bearings on the Diff. Relatively easy to change.
