Title: Something 'catching' behind steering wheel!
Post by: GaryBC on 21 April 2011, 12:42:04
Hi guys

Here's an odd one. There seems to be something breaking up behind the wheel! Whenever I spin the wheel I can both hear and feel something 'catching' - sometimes quite hard (and I have to put additional pressure on to get past it). It is not consistent either - sometimes all is ok, sometimes it catches quite badly.

The obvious candidate would appear (to me) to be the indicator switch mechanism - but this still works perfectly (both electrically and mechanically - it latches on, and self-cancels). Also I don't think it is the steering lock for the same reasons - it still works ok.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Gaz

PS. The indicators are now a little reluctant to cancel from a 'left' selection - so I think that's where the problem lies.

Anybody got an indicator switch?
