hello i have a y reg 3 litre omega and its running like a bag of nails i had a friend put a laptop on it and its saying not firing on 1 3 or 5 could this be spark plugs ? am not very experienced but very keen to learn my way round this problem i belive the plugs were changed six months ago can anyone also tell me how they are numbered ? i have a feeling that 1 3 and 5 is on the right side any help on this matter would be gratefully recived thanks

135 is drivers side on a uk car. No cable tray to battle with, pull some plug leads and check for oil in plug wells.

How did it pick up it was misfiring on 1/3/5, as the ecu does not store that on a 3.0l?
Check engine grounding points on back of the head.

I Doubt that the problem will be the plugs imo, could be that the plug wells are full of oil from leaking cam covers, pull the leads from the plug and check for oil. then it could be the leads breaking down or the DIS pac behind the passenger side head.
DIS pacs are a commom failure across the prefacelift range, but more common is the cam covers leaking and frying the leads in hot oil.
If it is the cam covers , use only gen vx seals and o rings as pattern parts are rubbish and you will be doing them again in a few months. At the same time you replace the seals, clean the breather system as this can cause your seals to fail.

Ah, yes, must be 3.2? In which case remove coil PAC on drivers bank.

Also that the plug in connected and no wiring damage coil pack to ecu.
