Title: quick question.....

51 plate 2.6 v6 omega cdx,petrol engine, does that have a timing chain or belt guys?

belt.  :y To be changed 4 yrs or 40 000 miles which ever come first  :y :y

Yup belt.

Afaik all petrols have a belt and only the 2.5TD I think is chain.

my diseasal Astra G has a cam belt (of indeterminate age  :-?)  ;) ;)

Some cars are petrol powered, some are diesel. Some have chains, some have belts, there's no connection between the two.  ;) ;) ;)

I know BMW dont use cambelts whether petrol or diesel?
thats why thought some omega diesels (bmw engine) might be chain driven too!
but im not sure thats why leaving it there! :P

Think it only applies to the 2.5TD which is a BMW engine and therefore uses a timing chain.

This guy got his wires crossed with the previous post.
He was just saying that whatever engines from BMW were used in the Omega....would be Timing chains..

Which is correct, as the only engine used from BMW is the 2.5 td....which does indeed have a chain.
No need to make it more complicated.
