Its that time of the year when the suns getting hotter and the Omeegah's aircon will be getting called upon and i think its not working,i got a pressure tester and the psi was approx 40psi on the low pressure side. I don't think i can hear the ac commpressor cutting in,is there anyone who knows the crack about the ac on the big omeegah's ??
thanking you in advance :D

Engine running, ac on, check the front of the ac pump on the aux belt run, bottom right, is running, to confirm. If not, find out why, has it seized, no electric, or most likely no gas in the system due to a leak. May well need an ac specialist to sort it from there tbh. Avoid the likes of Halfords or quick fit for a mobile specialist in your area.

hi Chris,i checked with a specialist ac pressure gauge that theres gas in the system and with the ac on i can't hear the pump kicking in and out, that leads me to beleive the pump in nackered. Could do with knowing how to test a pump as i guess the vauxhall code reader won't do that ? :-?

If the pump is not engaging and you have gas pressure you have an electrical problem. Possibly a fuse, compressor relay or one of the pressure / temperature switches that control the compressor feed.

The recent warm weather reminded me that the A/C does zip in mine, too..
Omeegah - where did you get the pressure gauge?
And one for Kevin - does the Tech2 have any sensors to query on the A/C system (like charge pressure sensor, clutch solenoid operation)?

I'm watching this thread with interest as the climate in my 2001 Elite isn't working at the moment either. Plenty of pressure in the system but no power to the compressor.
A job for an auto electrician, I imagine...

So am I, wim gassed mine up & they had to free the clutch on the compressor. Worked for a couple of weeks then stopped working.
The pully with the 3 bolt heads is spinning round but dont know where to go from there :'(
