Title: Tourer spec's.
Post by: Brikhead on 18 April 2011, 22:01:45
I'm a bit confused by my 'new' Omega.
It's a 'P' reg. 2.5 v6 manual Tourer model but the seats have been changed for leather elite ones...

Does any-one know if this car should have wood or carbon trim on the door cards?
What other things did a 'Tourer' leave the factory with (or without!)?
Also can I find out if this particular car ever used to be an automatic?

I have no intentions of keeping the car and will probably put a 'for sale' ad up in the appropriate area of this Forum, I wouldn't be surprised if the car ends up being broken for parts, that will be a shame though as she seems to drive fine. In the mean time I can spend a little time driving around with a smile back on my face!

Tourer model is based on a GLS spec with cloth seats and carbon trim. Electric windows front but windy windows in the rear.
Most came out the factory as manual box cars but there are a fair few Autos as well. They also were fitted with 16" softstar alloys.
Air con and a sunroof as std fitment
Why is it likley to be broken for spares if it drives fine? keep it as a car or just keep it.
Yes, it might be getting on but you would struggle to get anything near as good unless you up grade to a facelift elite.
I have a tourer and wont sell it for any amount of money, it is a super car and never gives any major problems.

Thanks for the info regarding the specification, I was confused as to why it has carbon around the gearstick but not around the heater vents, also it has a mint condition cloth drivers seat whilst the rest of the seats appear to be early Elite leather. The leather drivers seat was supplied along with a box of bits (rear window motors etc.) rolling around the boot!

As for breaking the car for spares I purchased it with an eye to making a profit and the only way to do that with a petrol Omega seems to be to sell it in pieces... People don't want or can't afford/justify v6 petrol engines these days.
She's a bit rusty, and very thirsty, so I guess she will be broken up just as soon as I've used up the remaining tax and M.O.T.

I looked at one a few years back, it had Carbon on the doors and black plastic around the centre bits, Recaro clothe sport seats, not the MV6 type, rear spoiler on the tail gate, Manual box and sunroof, dont remember much else.

If that helps.

I had a Tourer a few years ago. 2.5V6 manual in dark blue. Lovely car with huge amount of space in the back. Bought with 105k on the clock and did about another 50k in it. No major problems apart from a sensor that used to decide the engine needed a rest for a while! Sometimes I wish I still had it  :(

This one has 86,000 on the clock which seems to be genuine... the car was owned by Vauxhall for the first year or so and has the first three stamps in the book, then all the old M.O.T.'s back up the mileage from there on.

I can't stop driving the car about, it's addictive!
I always end up walking past my (slightly) newer Vectra and jumping in the Omega... It's been to Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and Aberystwyth over half term holidays. She doesn't use, or leak, a drop of oil and the engine sounds sweet as a bell!

I want a 3.2 manual saloon, an Elite with Mv6 suspension and front seats. And L.P.G.

...or maybe a nice 5 series...

Definitely the best colour!

The roads were wet last night for the first time since I got this car, it's amazing the difference having a manual box makes... you can pull away in a straight line, put your foot down a bit and then work at catching the back end as it tries to overtake the front, totally different to the way my old Mv6 used to behave, that just seemed to spin one wheel  while the car stayed straight where as this car seems to spin both wheels and the back is squirming all over the place!

Very irresponsible but SO much fun... :y
