Title: 2.5v6 engine
Post by: paul26may on 04 May 2011, 10:55:17
My Elite 2.5V6 seized (according to the RAC) last year and I refuse to give up on her! Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement? I am really very wary now having almost got sucked in by Bray Engineering. :-[

Is it actually seized, or has something like the cambelt failed?  If latter, you may get away with replacement heads.

Could try PM'ing the likes of Darth Loo-knee or Elite Pete who are often breaking Omegas - they may have replacement engines/heads/wahtever.  Albs is also breaking a car, but can't remember what engine size it is.

Its a 3.2, and I think someone wants the heads. Also not sure if they would fit a 2.5?  :-/

Was driving along M58 motorway and oil light came on. Got off at next junction and everything went dead. To be honest I wouldn't know how to check if it has seized - I am only taking the RAC chap's word for it.

As for Bray I searched for a recon and they phoned me on several occasions and even told me that once the engine was fitted I could legitimately have the clocks wound back to zero!  :D

Worth a quick check but I would say that the chain of events does point to a knackered engine :( :(
