Title: Heating up
Post by: Fazeel on 13 May 2011, 22:38:10
ok so the coolant level is where it should be which obviously means that there is no leak, but still my car seems to heat, the temperature gauge always stays above the half point, more than it used to
Once it even shot to the top and the red temperature light came on, but that was while I was standing at a traffic light.
I havent been driving recklessly either...
Any ideas why its heating ??

Thnermostats usually stick open if anything. Radiator core partially blocked with insects etc ?

im not sure about the larger one at the rear of the rad but does any of this also affect the throw of the air for the air conditioner ??
Because for some reason the pressure of the air at full has reduced, dont really know why ??
Is it some fan not working or do I have to clean some filters or blowers ??
If yes, then how ??

1) Do you mean you can hear the fan blowing at max but cant feel the air
OR
2) You cant hear the fan blowing although you have set it to max.

If its (1) then you might want to check your pollen filter!  ;)
