Post by: hazpaker on 14 May 2011, 12:30:43
How do I identify which type of auto box is fitted into my car a year 2000 2.2 petrol as i am going to do a ATF change and need to order some gaskets and a filter, also reading on the forum i see that the recommended ATF to use  is Dexron 3, now as all of the fluid will no be changed  would it be ok to use castrol OX-75 automatic transmission fluid which is To GM 6417M specification. as I have 10 litres of this sitting in the shed  :) :)

the box will be an AR25, and the fluid meets GM specs so should be ok to use

Any oil meeting Dexron III should be suitable.

Its my personal hatred of anything that comes in a Castrol tin that would stop me putting that in.

My own preference is Fuch Titan 4000
