Title: Plastic skin/seal for doors
Post by: MV6Matt on 16 May 2011, 17:58:20
I'm about to replace the front passenger door airbag sensor.

I've got to remove the thin plastic skin to get at the wiring on the bottom strip (to check that too) and remove/replace the sensor.

Any tips for suitable adhesive to use for re-sealing when I'm putting everything back? Or will it remain sticky enough to re-affix without additional adhesive/

Anyone know?

Matthew

Mine usually get 'Gaffer taped' back on... This may not be suitable for vehicles equipped with side air bags though, hopefully somebody with more knowledge can advise!

Yes, as long as it`s peeled back carefully.......and try to avoid any splits/rips

I Put mine back on the first time with nothing on it.
The second time I used silicone. Peels away easy enough and holds it in place too
