Title: Throttle body cleaning
Post by: Stallion on 20 May 2011, 11:26:49
Thought i give the throttle body a clean as iv got some free time on my hand, was worth opening it, as by the looks of it definitely hasnt been done in a while.
So the 2 black 90* hoses that connect to it, they seem to be wet inside, smelt and can confirm its petrol? is that normal??  :y

I think the 2 hoses that run to the throttle body are coolant hoses  :-?

The fuel lines run directly to the fuel rails that feed the injectors.

Do you mean the air intake pipes? The one's the light blue arrows are pointing to here in the first picture?

If so, they shouldn't be wet or smell of fuel  :o

What sort of mpg are you getting? Have you calculated it? The only thing i can think of is if you have some petrol mixed in your oil and the smell is coming from the breathers  :question

I'm not familiar with the 3.2 engines tbh, hopefully someone else will be able to shed some more light on this.
