Post by: jayten10 on 22 May 2011, 10:46:21
hello to all,

ive just picked up a 2003 mv6 auto with the usual culprit header tank full of gunk, but am i to belive that if it also overheats ie it goes from cold to 90+ degrees that it may not be the oil cooler that the headgasket is gone, i bought it as a repair so any advise would be greatly appreciated!! :-/

its overheating cos oil in the water isnt a good cooling system.

It WILL be the oil cooler.

Swap that out, flush like mad.

Jobs a goodun  :y

1Litre of low foam washing liquid will clean the cooling system and leave your whites whiter than white. :D

Washing liquid will act like a very powerful washing mc at 60mph for 30mins' then drain and repeat until clean then flush the life out of it untill the detergent is gone and then 50% water 50% red coolant to make sure the cooler is protected. :y
