Hi
After failing miserably at replacing my rear donut bushes is there a special tool that i can use to get these out .
I know theres a special Vx tool but is there an alternative tool on ebay or Machine Mart etc ?
I have seen ones for Vectra's but dont know if its the same thing .
I need to get these out as they are creaking badly but refuse to move :-/

Claw hammer, or 3 legged puller are the tools of choice for this....not an easy Job though :'(
Chris Gixxer is prob your best for advice on these, he's done more than a couple :y

SWMBO uses a ladyshave I think ;D ;D ;D
although I suggested she try the lawnmower ::) ::) ::) ::)

Claw hammer/pry bar/ baring puller all fit In the recesses. Lever the bugger out square.
Some more tips in the guide. ;)

When I decided to try this job I was really concerned I would end up with a car half repaired and unable to move it to a garage to fix.
In truth I would say this is not such a bad job .For me the tool of choice was a very large screw driver and a club hammer.Found by knocking the screwdriver into the recess in the bush housing and then applyinfg steady/constant pressure....then holding until the rubber relaxed and started to move.Then more and more movement with the screwdriver until the entire bush came out.
Steady pressure is the key..imho ..and then hold..till it moves....Trust me it will move and once it does you will become convinced it will come out.
No real special tools .

Historically there has been some real agro with certain aspects and this has made the guide a real long winded affair tbh. As you say it's not too hard at all. Removal just needs a "AV IT" approach with whatever means available without damaging anything else. Some use the screw driver and hammer approach to puncture the bush completely through and lever the bugger out that way. Others apply gentle pressure and just watch the bush gradually work out. Matters not. It will come out. AV IT! ;D. ;)
