Title: Oil on diff
Post by: Boditza on 31 May 2011, 15:34:26
I lifted the car today to change the wishbone bushes and i noticed that there is a oil stain on the drive axle, the one nexte to the self leveling sensor. it seems to be comeing out from the diff. it is located between the tothed abs wheel and the diff. it is mixed with dirt but its there. how can i fix that?

its not that.. i'm sorry for my english, that must be the reason you misunderstood me. i pointed an arrow where i found the drip. its between the abs toothed wheel and the diff itself

Sorry, misunderstood.  ;)
There is a seal between the drive shaft & differential, but I've never removed a drive shaft from any rear drive car. Theory is that once you've removed the wheel end of the drive shaft it should just pull out of the diff, like you would on a front wheel drive car. Seals aren't usually very expensive.

ok.. thanx for that. i replaced the rear wheel bearing and that is when it probably caught some dust in there and messed the seal, if it just pops out :)
