Title: brake pad renewal
Post by: caran10 on 04 June 2011, 09:34:54
I have just replaced my front brake pads but the ones i used dont have the wear sensor . The brake pad warning light comes on occassionally and stays on for a few miles then goes off for a while but still keeps coming back on , any help appreciated

What did you do with the original wires for the pads that did have sensors ?? sounds like there shorting out somewhere.

No pads come with sensors built in - they are a seperate piece, about £7 each from dealer

No mate - if you short them out (join the two wires on the sensor lead) it will turn off the brake pad warning. :y

Loose connection on the socket, or a broken internal wire. When the circuit "breaks" (open circuit) the light comes on.
