needed for the kit car,
What does the omega vent look like?
Is it solonoid controlled?
Does it need power to work?
Will bring it to Newent next year for you to looksee ;)
Help appreciated.
Thanks

The system is fed vacuum from one of the two inner hose barbs on the back of the breather bridge. There's a solenoid valve on the back of the driver's side cylinder head actuated by the engine ECU.
When open, the solenoid draws fumes from the charcoal canister behind the driver's side wheel arch liner. This, in turn, collects vapours from a breather in the top of the fuel tank. The engine draws the vapours in and burns them rather than them venting to atmosphere.
The ECU periodically purges the charcoal canister when engine conditions are right to do so (light load, so plenty of vacuum, and in closed-loop mode so it can compensate for any extra fuel / air drawn in).
I doubt you need an evap. emission control system for IVA, do you? I just have an open breather on the Westfield's tank, with an anti-spill valve on it.
If using the original ECU, you'll need to have the solenoid, or a resistance to simulate it,connected to the ECU or it'll raise a fault code, You can safely block off the vacuum line if not fitting the rest of the system.
Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh.

I have a feeling I may have a request incoming for the solenoid valve shortly.
Any idea what it looks like or a part number Kevin please. ;)

A black cylinder-shaped valve similar to the multiram solenoid valves. It's behind the driver's side head, pretty much between the head and the HBV, IIRC.
Pipe from this valve heads off into the driver's side wheel arch.

Only thing under the bonnet is the bottom end of the engine. :D ;D........might post a few pics of possible suspects tomorrow. :y

Got something here which looks similar, but not quite the same.
I wonder if the later ones are a bit different.
looks like the part number is 90466244.
Also has 02v.13 (I think) and PA66 -GF30 stamped on it.
Theres a challenge for you Rob. :D ;)

Mister linky to the rescue. ;D ;D ;DSorry about the pic quality. The one in my 1st pic is made by Delco-Remy. This is the GM purge valve 8-)

Thats the one. :y ::) ;D ;D
Same thing Kevin was talking about ?

Cheers. - again. :y

Yep, that's the one. :y

Im guessing some loom and a couple of lengths of suitable pipe would also be required by the OP ?

Thats a vac solenoid....and will not work as a purge valve as one side of the ports vents to atmosphere when its closed. :y

The later type can be seen here at the rear left on a bracket near the breather box

Oh dear - I had better go and have another hunt around in the shed. ::)...........looks like no electrical connections. Just one pipe in, one pipe out ? :-/

There is an electrical connection, its obscured by the pipe in that pic (you cna just make out the cable going to it).
The bracket it fits onto is mounted on the block.

Thanks guys, I've got the Delco one and it's still on the engine & wired in, one pipe from the back of the plenum, other is about 8" to nothing at the moment. :D
So In theory I've only got to run a pipe back to a spigot on the tank!
Is there no other one way valve by the tank?
Martin
Edit; do I need the charcoal or can I just pipe direct?
