Not HBV as originally suspected and changed.
Went out yesterday for a 40 minute drive, used air con. Parked up and came out of supermarket to find water all over the road. Dripping from more or less under the bottom pulley, on level road. Water pump?
Filled up with about 2 and a half pints of water. Drove back home again using air con. Parked up. Nothing leaking. When cool checked water level. No water loss.
GRR Any ideas please? :'( :'(

Hi Varche,
read your original post and have been thinking about it, then this one popped up, if its the waterpump leaking wont the coolant be all over the timing belt?
ref waterpump is it driven by the auxillary belt on the v6 or the timing belt i cant remember!!!

thanks dude in that case wonder if the increased tension from the aircon being on is just pulling to hard on water pump and causing it to leak, its the only thing i can think of, unless the aircon rad is heating the water rad and causing it to over heat? but that would show up on the temp gauge :-/

Never had any overheating problems in the last six months. But
had the air con regassed recently and used to use climate on low fan just to circulate air. Now doing the same but on the way back home the temp needle started climbing towards 100. So switched it off for the climb up the mountains. Then back on for the level bit and drop home.
Maybe I need to whip the aux belt off and the water pump. I have a used one with only little mileage on it.
Could I get away without a new gasket or sealing ring? I have some gasket goo.
