Title: Bit of a head scratcher...not starting 2.2ecotec
Post by: mac b on 11 June 2011, 13:35:49
Hi all

My car is not starting at all, first strange thing that happened was the radio has gone into a safe mode and the car will not start. All i can see is the car with a spanner light on and it wont fire up

any ideas? :(

Cam sensor will flag up the eml and stop the car from starting as will the crank sensor as well. change these first one at a time or get the codes read and post up the results on here and we can advise you from there.

does the car crank??? just not firing???

radio going into safe mode would point to a flat battery and radio losing its code
if it does crank but not fire i would put my money on crank sensor , if it is that only use genuine gm parts  :y

[edit]cranksensor can throw up a code but sometimes not  >:([/edit]

EML = emissions related. Spanner light = fault/s present
