Title: Aircon re-gas quantities
Post by: Turk on 12 June 2011, 22:23:14
What are the correct measurements of gas and oil required to re-charge a vacuumed system ?

Ahh. I've seen this in TIS somewhere. Will have a look tomorrow.

900g refrigerant rings a bell. Will have to double check and also look for the figure for the PAG oil.

950 g refrigerant + 50 ml of oil rings a bell.

950 grams refrig, and 60ml PAG sounds familiar to me, but any aircon place should have the lookup charts.

If you're trying to use DIY Halfords type top-up kits, your wasting your time, as you need to give it a good vac first to boil off the remaining liquids in there.

filling machines test for leaks also, so worth paying imo..

If you are using re-fill kits, it will cost you a FORTUNE!

PAG 100 or 150 oil required.

Re-fill kits ??  :o  By jingo...No !!
Had a re-gas done at the weekend and the techie was a bit confused as his specs were telling him 900 odd, but the system only took 650.
The system is cooling fine now, but he wants to vac and re-gas it again next weekend to see if it takes the amount specified.
