Hi All, I'm looking to buy a valve spring compressor to assist with the overhaul of my 2.5 V6 heads. Just had a look on ebay, and there's many different types.

Can anyone recommend a particular make that's suitable, and has the right adaptors included?

Also, whilst the valves are out, would be as well to replace the stem seals - genuine Vx parts, or aftermarket?

				Just to back-up martins comments:
The valve stem seals on e-bay used to be recommended by mark & myself but after 3 yrs / 28k I am seeing smoke on start-up and HC is rising at MoT so go for genuine stem seals.

Camshaft seals re-use or genuine...do not use pattern.
 Camcover seals genuine only.

Green sealant under front cambearing caps.
Black sealant for camcover corners and D's.

I made an adaptor for my valve spring compressor out of 28mm (22mm?) copper pipe so I didnt have to buy a new long-reach one.

				Hello
I see also blue smoke in start up when motor is cold. I would like to change the rubber seals, too. So do you have experience to do that job without disassembling the cylinder heads ? All other is OK, no use to disassembing - only 150 000 km driven.

				Aftermarket??
Use them and you will soon be doing the job again.
I use a large valve compressor I got from Haflords many years ago and it does the job without prolems.
I am sure someone on here will be able to give you a model number for one they use. Try PM'ing DLK, he will advise you without any hidden agendas.
