Title: Things I need to brush up on
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 31 January 2008, 12:12:46
I would probably consider myself to be an amatuer mechanic when it comes to the omega, but there is some knowledge I rekon I need to improve.

To be specific, I could do with brushing up my skills on:

1) Climate systems. I don't know much about how climate works and
    what the vacs operate, etc.

2) Brakes. I could do with doing a few fluid changes, and rear handbrake service.

3) Suspension. Could do with more practice with wishbones. Also would like to have a go under supervision at doing springs/shocks.

I'd also like to have a stab at a wheel bearing.

Additionally, I must have a go at a thrust washer too next time I've got an AR35 out of a car.

i need experience on everything on the omega, i've only done the cam cover gaskets, breathers and a pair of droplinks.

i'm gonna do an oil change soon, another new experience as i've not worked on any v6 before.

i'm more used to astras.

you're are braver man than me james, i wouldn't fancy getting the gearbox off my car.

I think you grossly underestimate yourself James! Some of the jobs you get stuck into are quite outstanding. :y
