Title: whats the widest tryes that will fit on my alloys?

Hi
I have the standard alloys with 225/55/16 tires on.Any know whats the widest that will fit the standard alloys?
eg 245/45/16 or 235/50/16 etc?

If you fit 45  50  instead of 55 your speed will run faster
Just had 2 tyres fitted i asked them to fit a wider tyre and they could not

increased fuel consumption, awful comfort, stiff steering, extra cost .. personally I wouldnt recommend..

and not sure speed calibration can be done for the odo with tech 2 for those sizes..

just for info 225/55x16 and 245/45x16 will both have the same rolling circumference
but i personally would not go any wider than 225 :y
