Title: Removing rear shelf and sun blind
Post by: Varche on 18 June 2011, 14:29:36
I have managed to remove the centre seat belt, headrest tubes, half a dozen 10 mm nuts from under neath the shelf.

Got the six inch wide seat back edges off.

Front middle of the shelf is loose but what is holding it on at the edges? Just the trim off the inside of the rear pillar maybe?

Underneath there are white spring out plastic clips. Can't see the heads only the pointy bit Is that what come off next?

Any pointers welcome!

The easiest way to get those clips out is from behind, use pliers to squeeze the correct part of the 'pointy bit' and push them through the hole...

First time you do it, remove the c pilar trim and unbolt the rear seat belt brackets. It makes it easier.

Be careful with the speakers if blind fitted as the studs drag over them. Make sure the stud nuts x3 are removed, poke the white clips through as said or the bracket glued to the cardboard will pull off.

On one I did the shelf itself had stuck to the rear screen seal/glue all round the rear edge.

Other than that it should pull out from there. Removing the speaker grills helps a little iirc, if they haven't popped out already.
