Hi guys , the alarm on my facelift 2.5 cdx keeps going off on its own ,does anyone know how I can fix it ? I think it'sdoing my neighbours head in as it tends to happen in the middle of the night as well any help is welcome

1st thing to check is the bonnet open 'plunger' unplug it, and see if that cures, if it does, either leave it off, or bend it up so it makes proper contact

Hi John r,
As Jimbob says, first port of call has to be the bonnet sensor.
I had exactly the same random activation problem and the good people of this Forum advised me to disconnect bonnet sensor, which I did. Silent nights thereafter !!
Alarm is still armed, but will not go off if someone tries to pop your bonnet. I thinks yobs are still sticking with the traditional window smashing, in which case the alarm will sound.
Hope it is the bonnet sensor, as it is the easiest fix in the world to disconnect it and enjoy your sleep.

I disconnected the bonnet sensor but the alarm went off five minutes later so it's not that . Do you guys have any other ideas ? Many thanks for your advice

If its an estate, check the rear glass panel contacts.
does the alarm sound if you disable the ultrasonics?
press the 'running man' button on leaving the car.

If none of the above; then a failing powersounder might be waking the nocturnal-dead!

Have you had the 'parp-parp-parp-parp' of the powersounder when your turn your ignition off?
Tell tale sign that it is on its way out.
I have just disconnected mine - I do wonder if it is related to the temperature drop over night as mine generally went off about 4am.
