Title: Leccy window
Post by: dbug on 27 June 2011, 19:18:28
Passenger window has decided to pack up - you can hear a faint click as you press switch, either up or down - all others work ok.

This is the door which has an intermittent fault on the central locking - sometimes works other times not - got a replacement "solenoid" for central locking just not had time to fit.

Any suggestions re window - are the two faults connected or just coincidental?

Hmm, don't think they share a common 0v in the door...

If the click is coming from the window motor then the switch must be o.k.

Just a thought - do the windows have anti-trap sensors??

Click appeared to be coming from switch area by gearshift.

Anyway - good news - its now working ok again and all I did was swear at it!!

Still got intermittent fault on the central locking (which I'll fix in due course altho I will try swearing at it first ;) ), so guess the two faults wre not connected and were just coincidental

My rear electric window has stopped working, the other three are OK, this one is dead. No clicks, nothing, this applies to the rear switch and the driver's switch. On the same door the puddle light works intermittently. Any thoughts would be most welcome.

It's always worth checking the rubber umbilical that carries the wiring loom from the car body into the door, this is revealed when the door is open near where the hinges are. Try and peel back the rubber to check for damage caused as the wire flexes when the door opens and closes.
