Have you opened the key up after arriving there?
The flashing light is indeed the immobiliser and will require a good scan tool to sort.
Disabling it is not an option though (as I cant think of any easy way to do it).
Have you tried the spare key?

yep tried the spare key still flashing light

Disconnect the battery for a bit, connect up, get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn to position too (I think) press the lock button, should lock then unlock again and bring it back in sync (maybe worth a go 1st without disconnecting the battery) try with both keys if one doesnt work.
If that fails it will need plugging in I think, but worth a go :y

Only re-syncs the remote sadly, nothing to do with the immobiliser.

Fair enough, thought it was worth a go :y

you could try doing a pedal trick ..... http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687 and see if there are any stored fault codes. :-/

Battery disconnection will reset all learned values, so it might be a bit lumpy for 2 or 3 miles
