I was looking at the maintenance guide for the diff. pinion seal change (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1157722402) and i notice the seal as shown in picture 1 sits tight against the diff. but mine sits more like the 7th picture (which says almost off). I can see a couple of threads also on the metal bit.
Is this an easy thing to check/tighten? I wonder if this will cure the slight leak i have as opposed to having to change the seal one day.
Any pointers appreciated.

I have a similar oil leak from the diff/prop shaft area and on closer investigation today I would say that the flange should be flush with the casing as shown in the other pictures.
If yours is as appears in #7 I would say that is almost out and quite possibly the cause of your oil leak.
Mine oil leak is much more like the first picture but the flange is flush so am assuming my seal is faulty.
Also noticed a slight leak around the toothed ring on each side by the drive shafts so looks like my diff has a few leaks but at 185k can,t really expect much more.

Thanks for your comments. If you do open it up could you let me know if it is easy to get the metal bit to sit flush again :y :y
