Title: Suspension
Post by: Figureman52 on 09 July 2011, 22:21:02
Hello.

Can anyone advise me if there is any difference between the suspension on a 1995 2.0 GLS Omega estate and my present car, a 2002 2.6  CD saloon?

Thanks.

Gls Cd CDX are all the same standard spec

However the saloon and estate rear suspension is very different. So only the front is common.

So would the differences in the estate to saloon alter the ride in any way?

The reason I'm asking is that the wife and I clocked up thousands of miles across Europe in the old estate, but in the facelift saloon she can't go 5 miles without feeling travel sick! I am wondering if it could be the ride. Unless anyone has any other ideas?

You need to replace all four shock absorbers as they are knackerd, a pal of mine had the same on his car recently and has changed the shokers and all is good.
The car will have a wallowy like ride and it does make you feel sick.

It's a good idea but she has been like this since we had the car in 2004, could 2 year old shock absorbers be knackered?

I was wondering if the suspension on the estate is stiffer or harder to allow for extra load capacity.

Or maybe it has nothing to do with the suspension at all!
