Title: 1995 omega 2,5 td wont start error 34 and 61
Post by: kenneth71 on 09 July 2011, 18:41:44
Hi.
I bought a "hot fix" on ebay to help my car start easy when hot. I made a misstake when connecting this and forgot to disconnect the battery ground. now the starter turns as hell, but no start, so its a fuel problem. Got error:34 Injector Timing Out Of Range and 61 Fuel Injection Quantity Control Circuit Incorrect Signal. I would think these two are connected and the one causing this is 34, but is there a way of clearing the codes without obd tool???im hoping this is a hiccup and will go away once cleared, and since this is my only car i need to get it running fast since i go away to work this week for 5 weeks and my wife needs it to by food...
Hope anyone can help me fast..

Try disconnecting the hot fix and see what happens...

If it works then indications would be that the hot fix is fragged..

Refit, just to ensure that it doesn't start again and to confirm hot fix faulty...

I wouldn't have thought you'd need to disconnect the battery! Fix only puts 2k in series with temp sensor snip thin grey?/ wire on loom at ecu.
Are you sure you didn't do something else?

Thats the only thing i did....it says in the instructions that "find a black wire and connect the grounding " and i connected it to the black an brown from glowing relay. That was ofcause wrong since it didnt help much and when checked it was turned on after 13 seconds insted of when ignition turns on so i disconnected it and connected it to the black wire going in to the ecu.Moving this wire from the black/brown wire on the glow relay to black on the ecu was the only thing i did in this opperation. When i mounted it the first time the battery was disconnected, so its only ground change to the hotfix that has been disconnected/connected.

Code 34 won't stop the engine starting.
Attach a small wire to the top of the fuel pump solinoid then touch the positive on the battery you should here a click this is the solinoid opening.(then try to start it)
Also make sure the ecu has a good earth. :y

In the first photo on the link below you will see tubes at the back of the pump.
The fuel pump solinoid sits next to the shinny bit and looks like a big nut with a small 6mm thread sticking out the top of it.
This will have a small wire attached on your engine all you do is take the rubber cover off hold a small wire on this first then touch the positive on the battery and you should here a click.
The click will comfirm that the solinoid is ok and it has somthing to do with what you have done when you fitted the hot start.

Make sure there is more than quarter of a tank in it, pull the plug under the starter motor for the crank signal thingy, try cranking on that  :y
