just fitted a new crank sensor. noticed when i was under the oil filter i could see drips of something yellowish. comming from the top of engine below the skuttle Which was off. Had a horrible burnt smell since the aircon was gassed up. mixture of old oil / and engine felt very hot on that side.
The liquid smelt like gearbox fluid but not pink
Aircon fans not kicking in now at all
checked water level. seemed a bit low just at centre panel of expansion tank. noticed seal on top of lid knackered fitted replacement lid
mark :-?

Odd, any pics?

Someone lifted their bumcheek? :D ;D
Seriously now....
You need to wash off the engine and then have a looky after a hot run to see where the problem originates.
Get back to us then and maybe someone will know how to help. :y

Any mechanical symptoms?

I occasionally have a bad smell on the passenger side, I cure it by asking the Mrs to get out the car

you should be able to press the filling valve open (i think it's just like a tyre valve it was on the senator see if any gas comes out)at least it will show if you still have gas in system or if it leeked out but there maybe a cut out on low preasure that stops the compressor clutch engaging so the compressor don't knacker.
