Title: how to remove ignition lock cylinder without key

hey im trying to remove an igntion lock cylinder on a cadillac catera but i dont have a key and im not trying to ruin the piece. I tried putting the alley key in the small hole but it still didnt come out any suggestions?

You need a key, that the point of needing a key in the lock  ;) The only way to remove it without a key is to drill down the centre (center  ::)) and then remove the remnants of the tumblers.  :y :y

Or a slide hammer with a hardened screw in the end ;) But either of these methods will destroy the barrel ;)

if you aint got the key
easiest way would be to break it off

yea ima try breaking it off cuz the car is at a pull yard so they wont care then ill just go to a locksmith to get a key for it.
