Title: Question about aftermarket bumpers
Post by: car-nut on 25 July 2011, 17:24:33
Would an aftermarket bumper for the pre facelift Omega fit the Facelisft Omega?

Are the mounts all the same?

As I have seen some aftermarket bumpers I like that are shown on the pre facelift.Omega.

Need some modification. Aftermarket tend to disintegrate after a while as most are poor quality..............manufactured primarily for the chav market :P. Wherever possible stick with Irmscher, Steinmetz or Prodrive. First two are hard to source, Prodrive bit easier to locate.

That is me tho Chav lol. How much modifying would the bumpers need, would it be a lotof hard work or a few easy mods?

It's cheap, because it's shite. Not just in appearance, but in construction as well.

I can only assume...

Braaaaaaaaaap! = Other road users horns signalling a warning.

Dats bangin' mate!!   = "Excuse me, but your poorly made abortion of a bumper appears to be hitting or 'banging' every speedbump"

Was thinking that too, just looking at the bumper it looks like a 'M sport' bumper!  ;)

I quite like the bumper but I don't like the bad boy bonnet adaptation and that grill looks awfull. I am only looking to change my bumpers as they are both battered on my car from the people who had it before me.

Chrisgixer has it right, it looks crap and will wipe itself out on the first hump it hits.
Re the pic...If beauty is supposed to be in the eye of the beholder I wish I was blind! That is a bridge way too far for a car as classic as the mig...

After market goods are generally not of the same high quality as the OEM ones. However they are now used in all insurance repairs as the cheaper option.
As they are purely cosmetic and are supported by a filler from its rear it is in my view an acceptable method because the end result is just as good in appearance.
The prefacelift and facelift models are radically different and are not interchangable.
Hope that helps.  :y
