Afternoon gents, I treated the car to a car wash this afternoon and was suprised to see the airbag warning light come on >:( whilst the machine removed several thousand miles of road dirt/general crud from the paintwork. I didnt notice any of the rollers ram the front of the car at any point. I hoped that turning the ignition off and on might fix the problem, what was I thinking, its not a pc or printer :D!
Any advise or checks that I can make? Driving down to SW france on saturday, so no chance of any main dealer intervention before that.

Let me guess, it comes on, goes off and then comes on and stays on?? Thats the usual failure mode.
The main sensor is actually in the middle of the car underneath the centre console storage box/armrest.
The sensors for the side airbags are in the doors - lower right for driver side, lower left for pass side. The connectors are well protected with waterproof rubber seals.
Its possible that if you have a dodgy seat connector that could be giving a false reading for the side airbags in the seats.
Problem with the airbag system is that the light stays on even when the fault clears :(

Needs a code reader on it to ascertain what has happened. Note, the SRS is inoperable in that condition.
Not sure if you can meet up with Kevin Wood before you go, he's the nearest with full Tech2 capability.

Thats the symptom that I have alright, the light goes out for a matter of seconds and then comes back on. I have no idea why this started happening. I'm guessing that it was just a coincedence that I was in a carwash at the time. Bloody anoying tho >:(
Where would I find Mr Wood?
