Title: Struggling to start after standing for a few hours
Post by: Will Bailes on 31 July 2011, 10:22:35
I have a 2.2 cdx auto. Since i bought the car it struggles to turn over, coughs and splutters and i have no power through accelerator. After half mile or so it runs fine. My mechanic mate has had the computer on it. It showed a fault with 02 sensor which we changed. Now all fault codes are clear. We also changed sparl plugs as they were knackered and changed a leaking air pipe, cleaned throttle body and it still hasnt solved the problem!!!!! HELP! Its drivin me nuts

It sounds like a cam sensor issue...

classic symptoms, and they dont 'always' show a fault code.

I'd be tempted on a new GM part and see how it goes.

aside from that...well serviced?  newish air and fuel filters (often neglected)?

Dont beleive your service history...

some garages, inc main dealer are great at charging for parts they dont / havent changed.

Get under and have a look - you can normally tell how old something looks....If its more than 2 years old - change it  :y
