As above - thinking about fitting a pair of MV6 saloon rear springs to my CD saloon, one of mine is broken so I need to change the springs regardless.
I presume there are no pitfalls.The rear of the car will just sit slightly lower ? :-/

I don't see any great problem. The shocks can compensate for the slight shortening of the springs.
Only poss prob is that the rear spring rate is harsher than the softer front and might make the handling 'interesting'.
That said, my old mv6 saloon had irmscher rears and standard mv6 fronts. I enjoyed that car. Lots....... ;D

Albs, don't see any probs with the change over , but rear should sit slightly lower than it was , as Hotel 21 says could make the handling interesting.
Might just be worth having a measure up on all four corners first, then again when changed over , just to see exactly what has changed. :y :y

Albs , been thinking about this since last night. my opininon is that any lowering should be done all round & not just the rear.
On the other hand - only about an hour to change each side - then see what occurs. not too much of a problem to change again to standard ones if handling is noticably worse.
On the side of caution - Having not done one - the front is a bit more involved to lower I would think :-/ :-/ Al :y

Gonna stick me neck out here & say 15mm.
Duggs & me measured up quite a few a couple of months back when trying to sort my FL elite out.
FL MV6's seem to be generally 15mm lower than std suspension.660mm MV6 & 675mm Elite & probably CD CDX. Bear in mind though that we only measured FL MV6 & elite models. These all had 17" wheels on with 235 45 tyres.
Best to measure up your front first - I'm guessing it will be 675mm ground to wheel arch.

You could always swap your complete front struts for MV6 ones Albs...
Now I wonder if there is a suitable donor car near you... ;) :-X

Cant be arsed with all that faffing around. ;D In dont drive fast enough to for it to be worthwhile tbh. ;) One of my rears is missing a pigtail and I thought it might be an idea to stick a pair of MV6 ones on it while im in there.
Not sure what to do now tbh. Dont really want "interesting" handling, so might be better to stick to standard. :-/

May be worth also fitting the matching mv6 shocks, or bilstein's as they may be a better match.

Remember that pre-facelift springs are no different to standard
