Title: Rear wheels turning in neutral
Post by: mikeh on 04 August 2011, 12:57:36
Hi, doing a bit of work on rear brakes. Jacked up rear end, wheels off, handbrake off, auto box in park and start engine. When I select neutral the rear discs start to turn. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Mike.

I wouldnt have thought they should move on their own in neutral  :-/

Yeh, they probably will a bit.

As much as neutral does not give a direct mechanical drive, there is still a shaft rotating inside another shaft and non-engaged gear sets so there will be some drag causing the wheels to turn
