Title: Cat failure
Post by: Ewan on 22 August 2011, 19:10:13
I have heard that a missfire or a blown head gasket can wreck cats. Can anyone throw any light on this? How likely is it , and does it need to be a prolonged situation before damage occurs?

... Hence if the ecu detects a miss fire for too long, on DBW cars certainly, it shuts down the injector on that cylinder.
