Title: Climate Heater Motor
Post by: johnnycboy on 26 August 2011, 17:01:29
Alright Guys/Girls

Climate system working correctly this morning on the way to work.  This afternoon started car up, climate all working except no fans coming on.  Tried to reset climate still no fans.  Cop-om showing heater blower motor voltage high.  Two questions is there just one blower motor? and the other question how easy to change?

One motor
PITA - its up behind glove box - glove box out, wiring tray removed and wiring moved out of way.  Fiddly job getting to and removing bolts.

Got a blower motor for me then, and do you know how the glove box comes out, you must do by now with all your expertise at stripping. :-*

Taking glove box out is easy. Im sure theres a guide on here.
I havent taken a blower motor out before - no-one has asked for one, but I could probably get it out tomorrow for you. :y

Stick 12v to blower terminals before condemning the motor. First off I`d get in under glovebox switch the heater control to recirc which will expose the fan and manually give it a spin, could well be jammed

Just been underneath glovebox - found motor, gave it a couple of spins by hand.  Started engine and fan now working ok.  Not sure for how long though, but hey its working.

Thanks guys. :y

Dont blame you John.Might be just a loose wiring plug or similar ?
When I get further into dismantling this car, I will keep the blower motor to one side in case you need it in the not too distant future. :y

You can let us know how difficult it is when you eventually do.  Thats if you dont take a disc cutter to the dash ;)
