Hi I am looking for anyone who lives near me who owns a fault diagnosis machine to tell me what codes are displaying as i have trouble starting the Omega. I live in sandhurst and im willing to travel to sought this frustrating problem out. and of coarse cover the cost of your time. Location once again sandhurst Berkshire GU47 0QN Many Thanx Macey

In the meantime you could always do the pedal trick to see how many errors/faults you have and then someone with a diagnostic can have a thorough look!

Well, had a look on Friday and....
P1130 O2 Sensor 1, no activity
P0170 Lean Exhaust
P1325 (Not Present) Knock control limit Cylinder 3
Was certainly starting and idling OK from hot, and both Lambda sensors were cycling happily too. No excessive fuel trim and the MAF was showing 8-10 kg/h at hot idle. A little lower than I'd expect, perhaps, but haven't tech2'ed that many 2.2s to form a solid opinion on that. All other live data looked plausible.
So, why the cold start problems?

Yes, that was one of the suggestions I made. :y
Knock code and lean exhaust make me think it's going lean under load, and MAF doesn't look conclusively bad. Fuel filter is due a change so well worth doing to see if it clears the problem, IMHO.

worth a gander at the fuel filter, if its not too badly corroded see if its flowing right way. I found when I started working on mine rather than letter garages do it, the fuel filter had been mounted the wrong way around! :o

Don't know about tech2, but can you see tha value of the coolant temp sensor on the tech2? Try to look at it when the engine is at ambient temperature, before you start it.
It should comply with temperatur in carcomputer as well as the intake air temperature, within a couple of degrees...
Had some experience with the tempsensor fail that did not produce a fault code regarding the tempsensor, but will f..k up the rest of the engine managment. If the ECU thinks it has an engine temperature of 95 degres Celsius when cold, it will certenly be hard to start :)

Did have a look at TIS, and they did mention a faulty connection at the plug to the coolant T.sensor. There is a retrofit sensor an plug kit with gold plated connectors.
It will produce hard starting an bad running with no codes to the coolant T. sensor.
