Hi,i have an mv6 omega with this problem, when driving its ok at slow speeds but when you get up to 60-70 mph you can feel it,also when braking at this speed it judders, would i be right in saying its the front discs, they were replaced at 69k there's 82k on it now,any help appreciated, thanks in advance..

Sounds more like a wheel balance issue to me ;)
-
hi JJGSi24 had same problem once changed discs/pads still same then changed front wishbones hey presto everything was then fine :y
-
I think you have two seperate problems.. first you need full geometry and also a check for wishbones..
warped discs also can cause judder when braking ..
so need a complete check imo..
google "WIM geometry center UK" they are well known here..

if it only wobbles without braking it could be your front wheels out of balance or possible steering component wear ?? may even be a warped disc ??
but these could also be felt whilst braking.

Yep... Could be wishbones but I'd start with the easiest/cheapest, the balancing ;)

It's worth noting that rear wheel(s) out of balance will also give a judder.
I'd be inclined to pop down to a local MOT station and have the brake balance checked. If you have seized or partially seized rear callipers then your front brakes are working overtime and will cause exaggerated wear. :y

Definitely front disks.
I fitted no-name disks to my last Omega. The 80mph vibration and juddering when braking became quite unpleasant after about 50k miles.
When I fitted new disks it was like having a new car :y
Worn wishbone bushes will probably make vibration and juddering worse but equally vibration and juddering will accelerate wear.

What discs where they? Vx discs will last more than 13k...?
-
Thanks for the reply's,i'll go with getting the wheels balanced first and go from there..i'll let ye know how i get on. :y

Dont forget the steering idler arm! I changed discs, pads and wishbones (all needed doing to be fair!) then changed the steering idler arm and the drag link. Still hasn't cured it completely (same symptons as you) but it's 99% better than it was...
Humpy

Ime...
Random wobble through steering, wishbone bushes failed
Vibration in a specific speed range, wheel balance preferably on a 5 stud balancer
Vibration when braking, fubar discs.
-
I ended up changing both wishbones as the front bush on the pass side had split,i treated it to new discs and pads while i was at it,no wobble now, thanks again for the help/replies :y

hiJJGSi24 glad you got it sorted you had same problem as mine which i said on 8aug you done same as me and now 2 migs running true :y
