Title: exhaust quotes
Post by: Bob G on 13 September 2011, 11:34:26
More to my exhaust wows, was planning to use one of the parts suggested by Rob G, today though the exhaust parted company into 2 parts, flixi broke flush with CAT.  need car but cash is tight as for everyone, thought I would ask couple of garages.  First up was Ebley in Gloucester a mere 480 "cuses it has the cat on it sir"  For a laugh tried Kwik fit, new down pipe and flexi and cat 196, still not sure what i am doing but thought the prices interesting.

If cash is tight and you need the car desperately, could try local scrappy or ebay to get you through for a while. No-one seems to break 4 pots on here. :-/
Did the brake switch arrive btw, and is it what you needed ? :-/

Decent custom exhaust place could repair that

Agree that pattern is not the way to go, posted prices more out of interest, going to let the guy who was going to weld to see if its possible, custom exhaust place would be soooo way out of my price range though.

Thats where mine went, any one half capable with a welder should be able to put a flexi on that. That cat looks like its seen some action though!

Went to my local custom exhaust place (RSR Tyres) about a year ago with blows before the back box.  They welded in two sections of stainless for under £50 IIRC.  A simple welding job can be quite cheap even if their custom exhausts do cost a fortune.

That should be repairable with a new flexi.
