A forum member from here is seriously ill (not me!). They are far too modest to to ask for or expect sympathy and I am not going to embaress them by naming them either. I will say that this person is particularly nice and several of us have met them. I spoke with them last night and was deeply shocked by what they told me.
If I may be so bold, could I ask all members to spare a thought at some point in the day for this person. They are very upbeat about the situation and I won't go into any details of their illness here.
Anyone wanting to send wishes to them, please just post an answer here. I am sure the said mamber will be grateful to know how much support they have here.
Perhaps I can start by wishing this member the very, very best and I sincerely hope that a solution can be found quickly. I genuinely mean it when I say that if there is ANYTHING I can do to help, please just ask.

To whomsoever.
I hope you rise above the challenge that life has placed in your path with the assistance and support of friends and family and all here at OOF. :y
-
Sorry to hear you're having problems.
From experience I would guess that sometimes you'll want to be alone,
quietly with your own thoughts, and other times you'll want to talk and interact
with folk.
When you want to do the latter there's plenty of good natured folk on here,
just the other side of your keyboard.
Best wishes to you.
-
What can you say in these situations. If you need anything that would be of help, please ask.
Bedt wishes, Steve.
-
If the support of your friends helps, then you have it in bucket loads here. Good luck

just to let you know that i'm still alive and kicking!
well the doctors gave me until last xmas to live, guess they where wrong. I've had the cancer, tumours and abscess on the cancer for nearly 2 years now, the abscess, used to leak this horrible stuff into my blood stream. And it used to make me so ill, about 1 month ago they found a cure to stop this, and i have never felt so good in the last 2 years, i feel like a new pin now.

Was not a member then this started and have not read it all but;
I am a big ‘C’ survivor by accident, as they said in the add just a routine x ray, mine was in the lung, too many ciggies though I would add chemicals and MDF to that, no one will ever know for sure. Took a whole bloody lung out and everything else has moved to fill in the space. Not the man I was but up and living, working again and getting on with it, the alternative, and I do not mean death. Is so easy to fall into.
So pleased you have pulled through though mate, keep going, even it is just to be oh here!!!!!!!!
:)
-
all the best Colin, we're only a click away if you need anything
Best wishes
Darren

always keep fighting it colin, the human spirit is a hard thing to beat.my wife had it recently ,but she is doing really well now.it can be very rough but there can be light at the end of the tunnel.i believe that good treatment is often the key and would advise concentrating on getting the right help from good doctors.and if you ever feel alone or down ,im sure if you log on to the forum every single member will be more than willing to help in any way possible. :y
-
Go for it mate, My Nan was told at 76 at about the big C, the doctors told her 6 to 12 months. ..She died at 94, she died as a result of a Stroke!
And my thoughts and lots of hope go out to you.
Chris.

Good news .. but the most important thing is a positive outlook ... :)
Take care and enjoy life .. don't dwell on the past or the future ...
get out and thrash a miggy once a week .. gauranteed to put a smile on your face .. :)
-
Great to know that things are much better.
I lost my best mate last Easter and it was unbelievable how his approach to the rest of his life became so positive when he adjusted to the dreadful news of terminal illness. His inspiration came from his family and good friends, and I'm sure you fully realise just how important such people are.
I hope everything continues to improve. As already said many times, any help needed, just ask.
Very best wishes.
Bill.
