my meg elite has a lot of tyre wear but only on one tyre (n/s/f)........any ideas on why this is (currently running 18" wheels ) ... really bad on inside but also has outer wear
-
camber setting probably .................. they're adjustable.
You need to find somewhere local that can do a proper geometry check on you wheels .......... ie not just tracking :y :y
-
i would be looking at the lower arms for wear in the bush,s. also check the steering idler arm. maybe do with a good geo check tbh. :y
-
If 18s were fitted as a modification ( I hope the insurers are aware cos they do not like mods they do not know about and love to cancel payouts for it) then the camber should have been altered to compensate.
Check also the front wishbone bush, the bottom ball joint and the ubquitous steering idler too. Last but not least, the tyre pressures...... :y
As already said, it needs to be set up by someone who knows what they are doing and not just any tracking service cos all 4 must be aligned accurately on migs.
-
Why would camber need a reset purely because of 18" rim?

Needs full geometric set up. But check for steering and suspension faults and repair those first.

ok thanks guys will have everything checked but still cant understand why just one wheel

Could that tyre be older? Roundabouts? Camber issue that side? Worn component that side? Track rod play? Wheel baring play. Steering knuckle play....?

Have recently had some of the same issues,un-even tyre wear, tramlining, have had a new set of boots fitted and the difference was there straight away not quite sorted a new set of wish bones going on next week as the bushes are shot then will get her set up properly geo wise, hope fully this will resolve the issues :y

Rob have you use them before ?? are they pretty reasonable on price.

I know WIM have franchises all over, just wondered if this is one of them:-

Sorry about the rubbish pic, I think it was in Derby, seems a bit cheeky to include "Get your WHEELS IN MOTION" if it isn't part of the real WIM.

Haven`t had the need for a geo check on any of my Omega`s to date Steve :)
