I had an MOT advisory on Front Brake Imbalance
Also when I had the front in the air earlier in the week, I span both wheels.
Pass side freewheeled for ages
Drivers managed a revolution before friction stopped it.
Whats the course of action.
Ive changed disks and pads and fluid before, but gone no further.
Cheers

1 Make sure your calipers are free and the sliders also.
2 Check the wheel bearings.
hth :y

As above, check the sliders and with the bleed nipple open, empty the piston of fluid by pushing it in.
-
Cheers, should any moving parts be coppergreased in this area? or just cleaned?

hmmm that wheel often does feel warm...I wonder :-/

General purpose grease inside the rubber sleeve of the slider bit, & copper grease at the contact points of the pads & caliper. :y

Just rereading Entwoods experiences...
Wheel Bearing, best bet currently Gen VX then? :'(

Got the same problem as Entwood, Gen Vx for me next.

thats what im thinking, esp with the enhanced feel of poly bushes.

It'll be warm due to binding brake :y Bearing would be very, very badly damaged before it generates any noticable heat.
-
Suspect normal grease will be fine for pin sliders, but there might be a case for a heat resistant Silicon on based grease...?
Examine for split or dislodged gaiters. May also find uneven pad wear.
-
When I rebuilt my front calipers I was advised to use Red Rubber Grease inside the slider pin gaiters.
You may find that they yours are dry and not releasing the pad.

It's a totally "non-scientific" answer .. but the genuine Vx one just "felt" better/more substantial as it went on. Only done 200 miles on it so no idea what the long term answer will be.. on TC it was just shy of £122

I was just about to say - shouldn't it be Red Rubber Grease anywhere there are rubber boots (usually on the sliders - not looked at the Omega yet, mind).. definitely not copper grease and not really generic grease either (both of which could cause the rubber boots to swell and bind or split).. JMHO :)

....
and not really generic grease either .....
but for most people that don't have access to a range of greases a universal grease would be better that nowt. ;) ;) ;)

Very true.. but then it's not that hard to pop to the local motor factors and get a tin of the right stuff ;)
Well.. unless you live on the Isle of Skye or something like that ;D

Do you mean that some people actually BUY grease ................... ? :-? :-? ;D ;D ;D

I hear it can be bought.. I always thought it just fell off a shelf somewhere and came home with me. ;D
Wait, I lie, I did once buy a tub of general purpose grease.. about 10 years ago ;D

Did it fall, or was it pushed? ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
My garage is full of stuff that was pushed ..... :-X :-X

Earthquakes. I blame earthquakes ;)
I may have to resort to buying it, though, since I have no access to shelves anymore :( and if I build this kit car I'll need it - it'll be covered in re-packable bearings and grease nipples :) (better get a grease gun, too!)
-
I have to buy my own grease :'( and seem to use more of it on other peoples cars than my own!

I bought a tub of grease in 1982 when rebuilding chevette HS engine. Its still about quarter full. I obviously use it sparingly. ;D
Get through quite a bit of copper grease though. ::)

Bottom bolt on Drivers side calliper was seized solid.
Eventually freed it off, greased up, and bled.
What a difference!
