Not sure which wheels - 18s or 19s
19s with 235/35s give the same rolling diameter , but comfort / tramlining ??
Anyway - do I go for A or B below ? My Meggy is a Black facelift elite.

Personally, I would go with something from a higher specced model (ie. MV6 wheels etc.) but out of the 2 you have shown, I would choose option A, but only in 18" max. (think of the future tyre bills) :y
-
MV6 facelift alloys are barely different to Elite ones, just appear to have slightly prouder spokes and a 45 degree slice where they meet the rim.
The very last Elites, MV6's and Sports all had exactly the same wheels.
I do like standard wheels or Irmscher wheels, getting non-standard wheels can be a gamble and either looks rubbish or brilliant IMHO.

Sorry :-[ I should have looked at his profile first...

No need for sorry! I wasn't having a go so i'm sorry if it came out like that! I was just commenting from what i've noticed glaring at Omega's (must get out of the habit!)
-
In my idea Size 18 must be the max..
also second link B is better...Omega is not nice with wheels that show the inner brake structure..More closed models are better I think..
Also be carefull for 5*110 otherwise you will have balance problems..
-
5x110 balance probs ??
Is that not the recomended fitment for Meggy's ??

Not at all! Perhaps it is because I want a set of the older MV6 wheels, (black detail) and they are on my mind! Didn't realise the car was an '01 :-/
True what you say about aftermarket wheels though, could go either way and its an expensive mistake if they don't look right.
-
Also , interested why everyone says 18 max - 235/35/19 is closer to rolling diameter current than 225/40/18 - so would keep gearing / speedo etc as designed.
-
There is a pic on 1st listing of them on a meggy - just thought the 5 spoke design (similar to 17 standard) but with black detail on a black car would look sweet ?
-
personally i would go with neither....
they have too much gap between the spokes, this is great if you want to show off a nice big brake conversion with alloy 4 pots etc, but standard calipers with smallish looking disks (compared to the wheel anyway) will look a bit naff.
just my opinion

5*110 is the correct size others will be problem
-
Personally don't like either...and they're REALLY expensive! I'm reckoning crap quality also.
Insurance implications are possible. Stick with vauxhall rims, just a nicer design, the Astra/Vectra VXR wheels will look the mutts :y (i'll post a link in general chat to an MV6 on ebay atm.)
-
Sorry , think the VXR rims everyone raves about are too delicate looking for a Meggy. AND everyones doing that !
As for expensive ?? Vauxhall wheel prices ?
All the used ones go for as much as new ones from others.

So , loads of reply posts and nothing constructive ........................ my mates have given a verdict , was going to gallery it after , but whats the ***kin point.
-
Ey, no, don't get me wrong, i'm all for personalising! It's what makes the world go round!
Though I think the thing to do would be to take a picture 'side on' of yuor car and ask one of the 'artists' on the forums to photoshop the potential wheels against your car. :y
-
end of the day its your money i like what youve shown but its personal choice the only thing that i would take on board is that a big wheel with a lot of fresh air behind it may not suite the look your after unless you also fit bigger brakes as well

That's what I thought everyone who responded was doing. To be honest, I thought that they both looked bloody horrible but wasn't sure that was the opinion he wanted to hear. ;)

Put your dummy back in mate and dont take it to heart. Everyone will wanna look when they're on. I converted my Elite TD auto to a stick shift - against what everyone thought... I get an extra 5mpg now, feels much faster too.
Just remember, everyones view and opinions are different on here. :y

There are insurance implications, you hould check with your current insurers first, as I was about to change to directline, then could'nt due to the no change on wheels/rims, so had to remain with existing company with all mods notified. :y

i would go with option A bud look very nice !! i am about to fit 19" wheels on my mv6 bud !! 235/35 on fronts and 265/30 on rears !!! :y
-
A word there ....... on the facelift 265/19 needs arch mods .... not sure on earlier megs but might be worth a check.
19s with 235/35 are closest to the standard 17s + 235/45 rolling diameter so I think thats the way to go.

Your doll has "fallen" out of your pram!!!
Personally i prefer option B to option A.
Recognise different people have different opinions - if u ask for theirs accept it may not be the same as yours.
Grow up!
