Title: Xenon headlights
Post by: bear33 on 10 November 2006, 14:29:23
I have Xenon headlights fitted to my omega.Sometimes when driving along the passenger side one goes out.I have changed the bulb as i thought it  could be that but alas it is still doing it.

Probably a stupid question which has a simple answer, but does anyone know where the ballast/starter packs for the hid lights are  located.?Is it accessable with out taking to much apart?Wanna swap them over to see if its that thats at fault

Thanks

Chris

I'd leave messing around with those to a proffesional, the power they produce will fry your brain mate!

depends on whether your car is a pre or post-facelift model. I've had the headlights out on a pre-facelift and the ballast packs are fixed to the underside of the headlight unit, I assume that the facelift ones are the same but I haven't had any reason to remove them yet !!

From memory, the ballast packs are sealed units too ... so not a lot you can do with 'em - but it's worth checking their input to ensure the connector's not corroded or anything like that.

Just remember to remove the battery neg lead and leave for a minute or two before touching any of the electrical connections.
