Can they be fixed or is it a replacement job
I managed to win one from a scrappy but it was worse than what I have was wondering if there was a knack to fixing them.
Has anyone fixed one before.
I discovered that they do not necessarily need to have the same part number as I tried one with a different part number but with the same Sockets on the back being a yellow and a grey socket.

I have managed to fix a couple but, its not easy and involves fabricating some plates to clamp the flexi circuit.

Here is something about it:

Dunno if it's of any use in your case...

I have seen a stripped one before and it looked like a rubber band went round a part of it which help to create the pressure on the strand I was thinking perhaps double the thickness creating more pressure to the strand on the flexi circuit hope this make sense.
I may try using some cable ties see if that works.

LOL

I remember when I was down the scrappy with TB, he got his hands on a perfect MID from a trashed CD spec megga.

I give up with my MID, I think my car just eats them.
Replaced it a few weeks ago with one with two pixels not working. Now those two work & whole other lot don't......

I did notice when fitting it it that if I wiggled the connector at the back it had an effect in the pixels.....
