Hi guys new on here just got myself a W reg omega estate 3.0 v6 manual, its ex-police and it seems they have disabled the traction control switch, as when i fitted my stereo there are no wires running to the switch at all, i know one is an earth one is a light live and the other does the turning off but where does this wire go to? Is there a traction control ecu of some sort?
Any help would be great, the traction control itself does work ok.

Sometimes the wiring is on the bank of switches above the radio, sometimes to switch bank on left of radio, so check both locations.
Presumably, TC works, so you want to be able to disable the TC function?
The wire ultimately ends up on the ABS ECU...

Had a good look when i had it all apart but couldn't find any wiring for it strangely thou there is wiring going to some buttons i dont even have, plus found loads of old bill wiring around the car.
Anyway yeah the traction control operates fine, would just like to have the option to switch it off if needed, plus i hate having buttons that dont work.
If i was looking to wire it up myself where exactly would the wires need to go?
Earth and light live are easy enough its just the last one?
Thanks for the help.

This is something i have done on an ex-plod and I cant remember where they went....will have to check my diagrams later...I was fortunate as the fitters had not cut the wires, they simply removed the terminals, put tape round them and taped them out of the way so it was just a case of inserting them in the right place.
Interestingly, the switch wiring has a common theme in as much as the 0V, lighting and 12V connections are all in the same place....most have the switch output in the same position to...

Great, if you could find out it would be great, really want to get it sorted.

the colours you're looking for are:
brown - earth
green/yellow - lighting feed
brown/red - TC line to ECU
- so if you can find these three wires bundled together, they should be the ones - the switch connects the brown/red to earth when operated.
