Any advise would be appreciated...have found a original vauxhall carin sat nav system with all bits and wiring which would seem to be acceptable to my 1998 2.5 elite..my question is how complicated and time consumming is the installation and more importantly is it possible??does it then require any special reprogramming or expensive software..and after all that how good is a 7 year old system???....or should I just go out and by a tomtom or similar and if so what would be best for mostly UK usage?...am just a bit concerned with bits on display in car and the agro of removal refit every time you leave car...just seemed much easier to have a built in less obtrusive system....any advise would be warmly welcomed

The Carin is old and slow. Awful positioning. Pictorial based. However, it works, and get up to date maps, it should be OK.
It has nowhere near the functionality of TomToms and similar, which in turn lack the functionality of the PDA based systems.
