Title: clarification of facelift Omega radios
Post by: tunnie on 19 August 2007, 22:04:57
I am a little fussy on the range and associate model numbers for facelift radios, i know the CDR2005 unit is the single CD player,

2006 is the one with the 4 cd insert tray thing.

What are the others?

NCD 15 or something for the next one, one with the phone? - Little fussy on the range.

Will most likey need a replacement for the 2006 unit in the Elite..... along with a possible GID

Will a 2006 drive a GID?

CDR2005 is the single slot
CDR2006 is the one you have
NCDC2013 is the satnav, needs GID or CID.
NCDC2015 is 2013 but with telematics

Can I Tech2 for 2006, just in case I have a theory about CD-SAFE.

There is a NCDC2013 and a NCDC2015.

Both are sat navs with front loading 5disc magazines - just like the 2006s.

The 2015 should come with a unit for sim card in the glove box.

Vauxhall ask for about £1,000 for a new 2013.  They come up very rarely on Ebay in UK.  I sourced one from ebay.de with its CID - think I paid £700 all in or thereabouts.

The 2015 looks near identical to the 2013 apart from several buttons on head unit.  In the 2013, there's a 'home' and 'alternative route' button for the sat nav which are replaced on the 2015 for an SOS and Roadstar functions.  The alt/home functions have to sourced from the main menu on the 2015.

If I recall correctly, there's also another unit (NCDC2012?????) that has cassette tape and radio with single slot cd player for the sat nav disc.  This front loading disc also plays standard cds if you wish.  Never seen one in the UK though.  Think this was a no cost option on 3.2 Elites but who'd chose to lose the cd magazine for a tape?

How's the Senator going???

Love to but no room for a spare car in the garage.  One day, I'll be able to afford a Lotus Carlton.  If I do, I'll let you take it on a spin.  Why not store the Senny?

Why not store the Senny?
Because he'll have to sweep it up w2ith dustpan and brush when he removes from storage.

Is it possible to just replace a cdr2005 with a NCDC2013 for the multi CD function? I would have no need for the Sat Nav, would the display work or would that need to be upgraded too?

Better to upgrade to a ccr2006, give you all that and should drive your current display without too many dramas

Fitting the NCDC series is not straightforward, as it security coding is different. Rather than a simple code, it is paired to all connected devices (screen, cd, telematics etc), and then pairs to immobiliser.
